M.U.S.C.L.E. figures

M.U.S.C.L.E.s, also called MUSCLE men are PVC figures about 2 inches high with an "intergalactic wrestling" theme (M.U.S.C.L.E. is an acronym for Millions of Unusual Small Creatures Lurking Everywhere). Produced by Mattel, MUSCLE toys were available in the mid-80's, from 1985 to 1986.

  1. What did you use to prime them? The newer rubber/plastics don't seem to like my brush on primer I use for other minis.

  2. I use humbrol matt black acrylic primer. On larger 54mm scales I use a grey primer, again I find the Humbrol works for me.

  3. These are amazing! As much as I like keeping old things the way they were when they came from the factory, these are so much more interesting. The art style reminds me of some of the stuff from Heavy Metal magazine, which was also out around the time these were being made.

  4. Just found this, and it's glorious. Never occurred to me to paint them. This is a weird combo of my present miniature painting and my past playing with these when I was like 8. Amazing :)
